Abbaye de Bénédictins Saint-Maixent[edit]
English: The 5th century, the monk Agapit creates a small community named Saint Saturnin. Later he confides it to a young monk, Adjutor, who takes for name Maixent. A monastery was founded, it became an abbey with a abbey church. Saint Saturnin becomes Saint Maixent. In 7th century, Leger, sixth abbot of St. Maixent was appointed bishop of Autun. Victim of hatred of Ebroïne, mayor of the palace of King, is sent into exile in Fécamp and beheaded. His body rests in the crypt of the Abbey.

Français : Au 5° siècle le moine Agapit crée une petite communauté nommée saint Saturnin. Plus tard il la confie à un jeune moine, Adjutor, qui prend pour nom Maixent. Un monastère est créé, Il deviendra une abbaye avec une église abbatiale. Saint Saturnin devient Saint Maixent. Au 7e siècle, Léger, sixième abbé de Saint Maixent est nommé évêque d'Autun. Victime de la haine d' Ebroïne, maire du palais du roi; Léger est envoyé en exil à Fécamp et décapité. Son corps repose dans la crypte de l'Abbatiale.
