A Storyteller legal release is a consent document which a videographer presents to a person who will be featured in video. Before recording, a videographer might ask persons who will be featured in a video to agree to grant permission to the videographer to claim all rights associated with the video work they create. Those rights might include permission to show everyone on camera, and the substance of any speech or other performance which they give.

Wikimedia Commons has not created guidance for when it might be appropriate to use this sort of release, except for what is published here. Some possible reasons include the following -
