Description
Español: Jardinero (¿o artista?) de topiaria (corte de ramas y hojas de arbustos y árboles para crear y mantener formas definidas) trabajando en un ciprés en el cementerio de Tulcán, situado en las afueras de la ciudad de Tulcán, capital de la provincia de Carchi, norte de Ecuador. El cementerio, de una superficie de 8 hectáreas, se fundó en 1932 para reemplazar al anterior, seriamente dañado en el terremoto de 1923. José María Azael Franco Guerrero era, allá por 1936, responsable de los parques de la ciudad, y comenzó trabajos de topiaria en el cementerio de Tulcán. En la actualidad el parque del cementerio ha ganado en fama internacional en el arte de topiaria y se fue renombrado en 2007 como Cementerio Azael Franco en honor a su trabajo.
English: Topiary (practice of clipping the foliage and twigs of trees and shrub to develop and maintain defined shapes) gardener (or artist?) working a cypress in the cemetery of Tulcán, located in the city of Tulcán, capital of the Carchi Province, north of Ecuador. The cemetery, of a surface of 8 hectares (20 acres), was founded in 1932 to replace the former one that was damaged in the 1923 earthquake. José María Azael Franco Guerrero was back in 1936 in charge of the city parks and started topiary works in the Tulcán cemetery. In the meanwhile the cemetery park has become internationally popular in the art of topiary and was renamed in 2007 to cemetery Azael Franco to honour his work.

Cmentarz o powierzchni 8 ha został założony w 1932 roku, aby zastąpić poprzedni, zniszczony podczas trzęsienia ziemi w 1923 roku. Praktykę ozdobnego strzyżenia krzewów (ang. topiary) na cmentarzu rozpoczęto z inicjatywy José María Azaela Franco Guerrero, który w 1936 został odpowiedzialnym za miejskie parki. W międzyczasie cmentarny park stał się znany w świecie sztuki ozdobnego strzyżenia i w 2007 roku, aby uhonorować jego pracę, nazwę cmentarza zmieniono na „cmentarz im. Azaela Franco”.
Čeština: Zahradník tvaruje cypřiš do tvaru králíka na hřbitově ve městě Tulcán na severu Ekvádoru. Zdejší hřbitov o ploše 8 hektarů je známý velkým množstvím keřů a stromů upravených zahradnickou technikou topiary do nejrůznějších tvarů.
