Adolf Friedrich Carl Schmidt (* 23. Juli 1860 in Breslau; † 17. Oktober 1944 in Gotha) war ein deutscher Geophysiker, der theoretisch und praktisch Grundlegendes auf dem Gebiet des Geomagnetismus geleistet hat und das Geomagnetische Observatorium in Potsdam (ab 1930 Adolf-Schmidt-Observatorium in Niemegk) 1902–1928 zur Weltgeltung führte. Er war Pazifist und ein Pionier der internationalen Sprache Esperanto in Deutschland.
